Defeating Cellulite

Cellulite is the last thing any woman wants to have to worry about. The problem is that 90 percent of women are all forced to worry about it. Cellulite is fat that is close to the surface of the skin. It pushes against connective tissue in the skin to cause the bumpy appearance. However, what can you do about it? Losing weight may reduce cellulite, but it is not necessarily the answer. Both heavy and skinny women are affected by it. Luckily, there are some tricks that you can try.

Cellulite Remedies: Fact and Fiction

Knowing what to do get rid of cellulite is a big part of the solution. However, there is so much information out there that it is difficult to know for sure what can be trusted. For example, liposuction is supposed to reduce cellulite. This is not true. Liposuction does remove large amounts of deep fat, but cellulite is surface. Removing the deep fat can actually cause the skin to pucker more, worsening the cellulite. Cellulite creams are also supposed to be an easy fix. It is important to check the ingredients because some work better than others. Creams with caffeine tend to have better results, tightening and smoothing the skin in as little as one month.

Diet and Exercise

While these man-made remedies can be easy, it is always best to mix whatever you are using with proper diet and exercise. This does not mean extreme exercise or fad dieting, but just a moderate amount of the both. The important thing is to keep your body in a healthy, neutral zone. This could simply mean walking or jogging a few days a week and eating less sugar. Diets rich in fruits, vegetables, and fiber mixed with aerobic exercise routines and strength training are known to help with cellulite reduction.
